🌸 A Dream in Pink: Intimate Baby Girl Shower at Oh So Frilly Events
When a client inquires with Oh So Frilly Events and gives us full creative freedom from the very start, it's truly a dream for my creative little heart.
This particular celebration was for a sweet mama-to-be who wanted to host an intimate baby shower for just 18 guests. Their only requests? Plenty of pink details, white chocolate raspberry cupcakes, and lush pink peonies. In other words—dreamy!

A Perfect Match for Our Space
If you’ve seen our signature pink bow wall, our curated collection of fine china, or the elegant charm of The Chanel Parlor, you know pink isn’t just a design choice—it’s part of who we are. In fact, pink is literally in our logo and branding, so creating a celebration centered around this color felt perfectly aligned with everything Oh So Frilly Events represents.
Naturally, we were thrilled to bring this vision to life.
The client chose our most loved offering: the Signature Oh So Frilly Package. It’s our most comprehensive package and includes everything from tablescape styling to tea service and those charming little details that make a big impression—without clients needing to source or haul anything in.
Setting the Table: Fine China, Napkins & Glassware
Since we had full creative control, my mind immediately went to:
Pink satin napkins
Pink floral linens
Blush and floral fine china plates
The girliest vintage tea cups you can imagine

With the focus on tea bites for the seated meal, I recommended dessert plates and appetizer plates only—no need for large dinner plates when the menu includes cucumber cream cheese sandwiches and mini cupcakes.
We selected china pieces with delicate pink and purple floral patterns, adding a soft romantic touch to each setting. While we offer clients a lookbook to choose from, our Signature Package clients often trust us to select the perfect pieces—especially when we’re working with a 2,000+ piece inventory!
One of our favorite little details—and a guest favorite—is our signature napkin presentation: We tie each satin napkin into a bow and thread it through the handle of the tea cup at each place setting.

It’s sweet, unexpected, and brings a whimsical, feminine feel that perfectly matches the vibe of a baby girl celebration. It also instantly elevates the table and gives guests a moment of delight as they take their seats.
Our signature goblets — included in every package — come in a gorgeous array of rainbow colors. For this shower, we chose soft pink and classic clear goblets to complement the rest of the table décor. Pro Tip: Alternating clear and solid-colored goblets adds an elegant touch to any tablescape, creating a look that feels both intentional and elevated. At the client’s request, each place setting also featured a vintage coupe glass — the perfect vessel for mimosas and bubbly.

Together, these elements create a tablescape that’s as beautiful as it is inviting — a perfect setting for making memories.
Welcome Sign & Florals 🌸
Because our clients often have specific floral requests in larger quantities, we partner with a trusted local wholesale florist to make sure every detail is just right. For this summer baby shower in Pittsburgh, the guest of honor’s favorite flower — the peony — became the star of the show. Several shades of pink peonies couldn’t have been a more perfect match for the soft, romantic palette.

As a sweet parting gift, each guest received a single peony displayed in a pink, vintage-inspired bud vase. We placed one at every table setting, adding a personal and thoughtful touch to the overall tablescape.
Our floral welcome sign looked right at home on our vintage porch. The soft pink peonies popped beautifully against the crisp white-painted wood, while a mix of filler flowers ensured the box was brimming with blooms.
We had just added a brand-new Cricut machine to our toolkit, so we were extra excited to get creative with the sign design. At the client’s request, we used pink vinyl lettering with the following phrases to greet guests as they arrived:

And here’s a little bonus: at Oh So Frilly Events, we’re one of the few venues that allow you to bring in your own caterer, food, and drinks. We know that’s a big concern when searching for the perfect event space.
However, for this baby shower, we teamed up with our preferred caterer, The Merrie Chef, to create a stunning spread of dainty tea bites that delighted both kids and adults. Beyond delicious flavors, her presentation was absolutely impressive — I rarely see caterers who care so much about every darling detail.

For this baby shower, the client chose the digital film cameras as her guestbook option. We placed cameras throughout the venue and at the mama-to-be’s table setting. Guests couldn’t resist picking up the cameras during the shower! Why hire one photographer when you can have 18? Okay… maybe they’re amateurs, but the perspectives are priceless.
