Setting the Scene: The Tablescape
We designed this tablescape to bring out the magic of a seven-year-old’s dream. The birthday girl had a colorful vision in mind—rainbows and glitter—and we brought it to life with a playful yet elegant setup. Every detail was styled with purpose and creativity to feel special, photogenic, and fun.

Darling Details: Tea Bites, Warm Tea, & Heart-Shaped Sugar Cubes
The birthday girl had a taste for more grown-up flavors instead of the usual kid-friendly options. She loves salmon and deviled eggs — choices you wouldn’t normally expect from a 7-year-old! We loved it though, because the caterer’s presentation was stunning, and those bites looked so elegant displayed on our floral tiers.
At Oh So Frilly Events, we serve our very own custom tea blends — and trust us, they’re a must-try! For this party, we chose a caffeine-free option (don’t worry parents, we wouldn’t do that to you 😉). The blend of choice was a cozy apple-cinnamon flavor, perfect for little sippers.
To make it even more magical, we added rainbow heart-shaped sugar cubes. The kids were obsessed — their faces lit up with pure excitement as they dropped the colorful cubes into their mini floral teacups. It was the sweetest little detail, and one that made tea time feel extra special. 🌈🍵💖
Of course, tea time wouldn’t be complete without a slice of cake! 🍰 Oakmont Bakery delivered a show-stopping rainbow tiered cake, while custom sugar cookies with Ruthi’s face on them stole the show on our vintage dessert cart.
Between the custom blend, the sugar cubes, and the cake, this was the kind of party spread that made every detail feel thoughtful and fun.
The Fine Details: Sweet Sounds of a Violinist
While the tablescape set the stage, it was the little details beyond the table that truly made the celebration even more fun.
The birthday girl is not only a music lover, but a musician herself — so of course live music was a must for her celebration! 🎶 Our client brought in a violist she had first seen at a wedding, and let me tell you… we hope every client brings him back. The sweet sounds filling the room had both kids and parents completely mesmerized. He mixed in everything from children’s favorites and today’s hits (yes, even the Paw Patrol theme and Espresso by Sabrina Carpenter) to classics like Frank Sinatra — our personal favorite. ✨

Our client wanted the most interactive and animated photo booth we offer — and we knew exactly which one to recommend! ✨ Our retro mirror booth is packed with engaging features like emojis, doodles, and playful animations, all of which can be customized to match the vibe of your event.
Since this party was all about rainbows and frills, we designed a custom start screen to tie everything together. 🌈 Guests walked away with 4x6 photo prints, which doubled as adorable party favors for the kids. The 4x6 format is always a hit — not only does it stand out from the usual strips, but it also looks perfect in a frame and gives us more room to play with creative graphics and details.
Why bring in a backdrop when our Chanel Parlor already has a built-in showstopper? Our bow wall paired with the pink Victorian settee made the perfect photo spot for the kids. And really… who could resist a pink wall covered in velvet bows? 🎀💕
Make Your Own Floral Bouquet Favor 🌸
And you thought the photo booth prints were the only party favor? Not at this celebration! ✨ To keep the fun going, we added a make & take flower bar — another interactive service we offer through our sister company, Clicksburgh Retro Rentals.
Since the weather was perfect, we set everything up on the porch, giving kids plenty of room to create. We ordered a mix of bright, colorful flowers — every shade of the rainbow 🌈 — so the kids could pick their favorites and design their very own mini bouquets to take home. It was hands-on, cheerful, and such a sweet way to send guests off with something they made themselves.
Parents, you’ll appreciate this one.
There were a few kiddos who weren’t all that interested in making a bouquet at first — until their parents chimed in with, “You’d better make one… or we will!” 😂 The flowers were just too beautiful, with colors so bright and vivid, no one wanted to miss out.
Craft Time in the Western Lounge
To continue along with a fancy tea theme, the client brought all of the fun with a craft kit to make fascinators! From glittery to florals to butterflies & ribbon, the kids truly had a blast making these adorable hats. We made a sample one a few days before the party so we could display it to give the kids an idea of what it should look like and it just so much fun!

Who knew a kid’s birthday party could be this fun and filled with so many stunning details?! Honestly, we didn’t expect to host many children’s parties when we opened our doors — but we’ve loved every single one. And the parents? They ended up staying the whole time… we’re pretty sure they had just as much fun (if not more!) than the kids. 😉
