An Elegant “Over the Moon” Baby Shower in Blu
Who says you can’t have a tea party for a baby boy?
Back in January, we had the pleasure of hosting one of the most elegant baby showers for a baby boy at Oh So Frilly Events. While our space is often filled with pretty pinks, purples, and feminine florals, this blue baby shower gave us the perfect opportunity to bring out some of our favorite blue china, linens, and vintage tableware.
The theme was “Over the Moon,” and the client ran with it in the most beautiful way. From the deep blue tablescape to the celestial-inspired details and adorable favors, this tea party baby shower was sophisticated, unique, and absolutely unforgettable.
And we have to say… “Over the Moon” may just be a new favorite of ours!
The Blue Baby Shower Tablescape
The tablescape was filled with rich, deep blue details, including blue goblets, vintage china, satin napkins, and floral linens. We paired the blue with plenty of gold accents, including gold stemware, teacups, and silverware.
We also incorporated a few silver tiered stands and platters throughout the tablescape. Mixing gold and silver is a trend we personally love, and the combination worked beautifully with the deep blue color palette.
Our blue floral linens are one of our favorites, and they complemented the vintage china perfectly. Each place setting included a salad plate, appetizer plate, and bowl, which was perfect for the autumn squash soup served by the caterer, along with an assortment of delicious tea bites.
To add a little contrast, we mixed some clear goblets in with the deep blue goblets. And, of course, we added one of our signature Oh So Frilly touches: satin napkins tied into bows through the teacup handles.

Creative Details & Adorable Baby Shower Favors
We may have found the perfect napkin holders just in time for this event! These adorable teapot-shaped napkin holders featured blue florals and fit the theme perfectly.
Since the client really wanted to incorporate our signature bow napkins, we didn’t use the teapot napkin holders at every place setting. Instead, we placed them at the end seats of each table for a fun little change throughout the tablescape.
The centerpieces were another favorite detail. The client brought adorable blue cloth baby booties and filled them with baby's breath. They were some of the sweetest centerpieces we have ever seen and added such a personal touch to the room.
The shower games and bingo embraced the “Out of This World” theme, too. The client really leaned into the space theme, and we loved seeing how she incorporated it throughout the shower while still keeping everything elegant and sophisticated.
And then there were the favors! Each guest received an adorable moon-shaped bath bomb in a sweet little bag. We placed one on each saucer at the place setting, making the favors part of the tablescape itself.
A Baby Shower We Set Up For You
One of our favorite parts of hosting events at Oh So Frilly is getting to take all of the little details our clients have envisioned and bring them together.

The client dropped off her décor and personal items a few days before the shower, giving us plenty of time to arrange everything and create the finished look.
There’s something so special about walking into a room and seeing all of your ideas come together exactly as you imagined them.
Even when you already know what each individual item looks like, seeing everything styled together on the tables for the first time is a completely different experience.
